I don't know why the hell I didn't mention this before...

...but congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Damian Schinella, who got married at Roaring Camp on Saturday. I wasn't able to make it out (my cousin got married the same day in Discovery Bay), but from everything I've heard, it was a beautiful ceremony.

BicycleWeed

Jeff Kendall-Weed, AKA BicycleWeed from BMXBoard, sent me a few photos of Dusty Samson and Mike Hernadez that he took over the weekend out at Fun Spot. I also snagged a lifestyle shot of him from a recent trip into the Southwest, for good measure.

Follow Me To Tuolumne

Pat Leahy wanted me to post his part from Follow Me To Tuolumne, so I did. There should be some other riders' sections coming up on his Vimeo account soon, so be sure to check back if you like what you see. On an unrelated sidenote, it amazes me that people are dumb enough not to password-protect their wireless systems...

Just Words

I don't have a new video or photos to put up yet, since my laptop just showed up today and I'm in the process of copying all of my stuff onto it, which looks like it will take at least two sittings to do. So, yeah. That's the news...

...aside from the Cunningham employees finally getting around to actually doing their jobs, for which they are way, way overpaid, on Sunday. I ended up leaving fifteen minutes into the session when the management called me out on not having brakes (which I'll have as soon as I can afford a drivetrain that they can actually fit under...), and ended up riding with Mike, Jackson, and Kevin from Santa Cruz, and Chris from Fresno, all of whom were in the South Bay for the day. We went out to El Grullense #69420 for breakfast and the best carnitas ever, and then headed over to the Redwood City park to meet up with former Woodward West dudes John Rokos and Shawn Dorton, who now live on the Peninsula and work for Tesla and a local school, respectively. After that, we went out to Atascadero; no one jumped anything and I got a fix-it ticket for the broken turn signals on my Civic. Then we went to Cali, saw a fruity MTB kid with an Aussie accent exchange shittalk with a similarly fruity, non-accented MTB kid. It ended when the Aussie kid said something along the lines of "I'm sensing some hostility here, mate. Do you have a problem?" and the other kid was all, like, "no." Anyway, we headed out to LG Bowl after that, where I got some clips you'll see soon enough.

New

Bobby Roberts sent me an email earlier today, telling me to tell you that there's a dirtjumping event next to the skatepark in Folsom this Friday: Cyclebration. Also, he sent out a few pictures of himself jumping out of the Citrus Heights park that Damian Black shot:

Some photos that Elliott shot with his new camera:

Chris Riesner shot this out at Woodward West recently with his new DVX:

Race! Part Deux!!

Rematch Bitches! For all the flakes that talked it up and didnt show the first time around, Im callin em out! We have the chance to do another round of racing on the 28th of this month so once again if we get a good 20 guys that wanna come out and get their sprint on for a day then this is your chance. We will have a normal race going on inbetween our shadyness so you guys can actually get a few minutes before laps to recover this time :) The entry fee will be $10 again and your $10 will go toward helping a fellow BMX family that is battling some cancer issues. You may or may not know Cody Carr but hes a little super grom that sessions cunningham with everyone, money raised will go to that and its a good cause so I advise anyone who wants to have a good day and support a good cause to come out and enjoy it. Sorry but no grand trophies will be given out maybe the recipients of the last race wanna give theirs up and well pass em from house to house? Like a stanley cup kinda deal? Haha could be RAD. Anyway hit my email if your down- dawgincnorcal@aol.com and we can do somewhat of a dirt jump jam demo as well if anyone wants to do that? Im open for options lets figure it out!

Moving.

That's right. I'm moving to an apartment complex over by Capitol Expressway and Snell, with Jared and a couple friends from State. I got my bed, desk, and some other stuff in tonight with the help of Dawg and Dustin. Thanks, guys.

Anyway, there's some more events coming up:

  1. The 1st Annual Edge Gamez (yes, with a "z") at Woodward West on Sunday, September 21st, starting at 8am. For more info, click here.
  2. Meet The Street will take place on the Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th over at Treasure Island, complete with a $5000 prize and a car on the course. Signup info is available on the 2-Hip site.
  3. Icer Air is the following Friday and Saturday, the 17th and 18th, at McCovey Cove. I don't have any real details yet, aside from there being a larger prize and the course being similar to last year's, but with more space to work with.
  4. Transparent/First Rule's Hell on Wheels 4 will take place on October 26th, in San Francisco; Nip doesn't have anything really worked out yet, but you'll hear more soon. In the meantime, here's a video Chris shot with his new camera last weekend at Fun Spot. Real clean.

Kevin Kiraly, Shit City Fucks, Stonegate BBQ

Here's a short video of Kevin riding street in Portland:

And this is the new Shit City Fucks video, Gettin' Weird: http://www.joereadel.com/gwww.mov.

Also, the Stonegate locals are having another BBQ there today around noon.

This Heat

It's way, way too fucking hot as of late, and we need some rain, or something. So, here's a live video of "Texas Flood." Coincidentally, yesterday was the eighteenth anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughan's death.

Bay Game has moved: http://news.lotekbrand.com/blogs/baygame. I was wondering when someone was going to do something over one of those tall handrails at the SF trolley stations, and it appears that Nick Hammer has responded to my thoughts. Scroll down to the bottom.

Mike Kohn started up a new blog, The Rolling Stone, centering on the Walnut Creek-Concord-Pleasanton scene. Looks like he's off to a pretty good start to me.

Here's some new photos that Derek Wilson took of Smelliott!
