Right or wrong good or bad, what I see is black and white people in Oakland having a good time and nobody causing any trouble. If this helps with unity then I am all for it.
I do not know what to say. I cried like a little bitch on my couch while my wife did cart wheels around the room. Soooo happy that this country has grown up enough to elect a black man as president. A day that will live on forever in the hearts of Americans. I have been so down on this country since Katrina, and before that 9/11. I would not have been surprised if George Bush would have somehow used his veto power to stop the election somehow. Could you imagine Mcains old ass trying to run things for us. What if he dropped dead? Sarah Palins the answer I guess. Tears of joy, my faith in the citizens of this country has renewed somewhat. He captured the old, the young, the rich, the poor, Jesse Jackson, Oprah, Colin Powel, black, white, brown. Never since 1960 have so many people rallied around a president. People were dancing in the streets coast to coast, and in the villages of Kenya. You really need to sit back, and look at the seats the Democrats now hold. Barrack will have his work cut out for him, but if he surrounds himself with the right people, we may just see our country start to pick its head up. Regardless of what opinions or feelings we have of this country, try and think of how other countries view us. Either way, whether you were for or against, he has probably the hardest burden to inherit that any US President has ever faced. I hope he means what he said. One thing is for sure is that people were clearly tired of the old regime. Lets see if the troops come home first. Yeah the economy is fucked up, but don't forget about the men and women sleeping in the desert and the mountains of Afghanistan.
Obama FTW. Personally, I couldn't be any happier with the change. I watched the Obama briefing today and it was really nice to see a smart, strong, content human you can look up to, representing the future of our country. I can't really say the same about Bush.
