I’ll start off with the good news about Joey first: He won the School’s Out Jam last night. Now for the bad news: He’s been in the hospital in Fresno since last night, after breaking two vertebrae in his neck during the post-jam high jump contest. Thankfully, Danny Leahy and Kelly Costello are staying down there with him for the time being. Danny’s told me that Joey’s pretty out of it right now, and is strapped down until the doctors decide whether or not he needs surgery; also, he’s told me that Joey has been able to move his extremities, which is obviously a good sign. I’ll post updates as I get them, and you’ll be hearing about some sort of DawgAid-style event to help him out with his medical bills once he gets back home from Fresno. In the meantime, keep him in mind.

Very scary stuff. A great rider and a nice guy, Maybe a funspot jam should be organized once the park is open?

That would work. I was thinking Redwood City, though, since that’s his local park.

cant wait to see you shreddin again
a jam a redwood would be sick
we could have a redwood bbq
because we might get a lot of heat for having alot of bikes in the park
but im pretty sure a lot of the skaters there would be down for the cause too

Yeah, me and Nick are waiting for Joey to get back to figure out a location. Fun Spot’s sounding more and more likely to me.

id say redwood would be cooler and its closer for him
i mean we might not get to ride as much but its all good its just to support him and throw in money to help him out
i think a bbq at redwood would be cool and have people pay for food
