Matador Photo Contest/Handouts
Matador sent me some product (click the graphic to see it all) to give away, which I’ll be doing via a photo contest and handouts. So, to win stuff, send in a photo; I’ll accept anything – pics of you riding, pics of you drunk, pics of you riding drunk, etc. Since there’s so much stuff, I’m also going to be handing some of the product out, so if you see me, do something rad and then come up to me and say “Beerman, give me some shit!” Then I’ll either give you some Matador product, or heckle you mercilessly.
Lance
Lance, our OG friend from the East Bay, was hit by a car a few weeks back. It took me forever to post this because I couldn’t find a picture. Lance has come to a bunch of the First Rule jams and has been riding since back in the day. All I know is that he is doing well, but has a broken femur. The car that hit him was running from the cops and ran a stop sign. Get well soon, Lance!

SFBC Bike-in Movie Night: Rad

Don’t miss the first of the SFBC’s free summer bike-in movie series with your fellow bike lovers! We’ll be kicking off the series with the beloved BMX cult classic Rad, featuring the amazing and infamous bike dance scene with a young Lori Loughlin (best known for her role as Aunt Becky on Full House).
Help us transform an ordinary parking lot in to a fabulous movie theater under the stars, complete with complimentary bike valet! Street food vendors will be out and about, including the Crème Brûlée Cart, the Magic Curry Kart, Gobba Gobba Hey, Sexy Soup Cart, Amuse Bouche SF, Sweet Constructions, Chez Spencer’s “Spencer on the Go!” Truck and more! Joey Chernoff
I’ll start off with the good news about Joey first: He won the School’s Out Jam last night. Now for the bad news: He’s been in the hospital in Fresno since last night, after breaking two vertebrae in his neck during the post-jam high jump contest. Thankfully, Danny Leahy and Kelly Costello are staying down there with him for the time being. Danny’s told me that Joey’s pretty out of it right now, and is strapped down until the doctors decide whether or not he needs surgery; also, he’s told me that Joey has been able to move his extremities, which is obviously a good sign. I’ll post updates as I get them, and you’ll be hearing about some sort of DawgAid-style event to help him out with his medical bills once he gets back home from Fresno. In the meantime, keep him in mind.
Free Flow Tour @ Ramp Rats
The Free Flow Tour is coming to Ramp Rats yet again, this time on Sunday, August 2nd. It’s a 21-and-under event, and signs-ups and practice start at noon, with the contest itself starting at 1pm. Also, Ramp Rats has expanded its shop, and will be having a sale (15% off mailorder pricing) on the weekend of the event.
